Dynamic DNS

| | Comments (0)
It looks like my dynamic DNS company has crapped out. No pictures until they come back on line...if they ever do. I might have to switch to another company. I use dynamic forwarding from my firewall to an inside private network to link to large files, music, pictures, etc. The reason I can do this is thru the efforts of a dynamic DNS service run on the web. It constantly checks my external IP, and if changed by my ISP, the service updates the Internet....that's why all my pictures etc., are linked to by bjbarron.thatip.com:81 rather than a public IP address. Update: I have replaced my dynamic DNS entry with the actual IP address. The pictures will show until the DHCP number changes (usually every couple of days). Hopefully the web service will be up and running by then.
