The Testing Day at the Range....

| | Comments (1)
The Deacon and the Man are down for a visit this weekend...usually they look like this. The AR build isn't finished, but we went to the range out at Fort Dix anyway. Justin brought a Marlin 30-30 and a .30cal Ruger SA he wanted to try out. I brought the 1022 and the SKS. Amanda went big-bore this trip...spending all of her time behind the 30 cal rifles and pistols....but it was really much too windy to do any serious shooting, so we just played guns for a couple of hours. I need to get her some shaded shooting glasses. Click the thumbnails for bigger pictures: I was very impressed the the pistol. What a sweet soft recoil from that round although It took a couple of cylinder loads before it would eject easily. I really don't think the pistol has been shot very much. Justin's Dad is a premier gunny...you just can't imagine his collection. He's got this interesting Colorado bank promotion....you could get a certain interest, or a Python/Diamondback set. Could you imagine that promotion today? He gifted Justin with a couple of guns when Justin got his permit. Both of the guns that Justin brought have been in his family for decades and he's picking up a 45LC Cattleman on Monday...his first personal purchase.
