Who'da Thunk it?

Uzi's are for girls. I was having a conversation with a couple of vets the other day; one a graduate of the IDF, and the other a Turk. I asked them what they carried. The Turk had a G3...nice. I asked the other guy if he carried a Galil...and he answered that he had an M16A2. What? Not an Uzi? So I find out that by the time this guy is in, Uzi's were for the girls. By the 80's they were beat up, jam-o-matics, and couldn't hit crap. They were only issued to girl soldiers...the guys didn't want to be seen near one. During a weekend warrior gig, he tells me, he gets issued an Uzi. They had to keep their guns with them at all time, and he was embarassed as hell when he had to hitch home with it. He'd try to hide it. The famous Uzi, terror of 3 Arab-Israeli wars, is for the girls now.
