I listened to three channels this AM on the drive in...including NPR. All mentioned the breakout and how the poor deprived Pali's were doing it to get food and water. Not one mentioned the dozens of missiles each day shot into Israel that began the whole thing. None mention the emergency supplies. They only mention the Security Council meeting condemning Israel.
Meanwhile, Mubarak also criticized Hamas for continuing to fire missiles into Israel, saying that it was not helping the situation. He said that he had been in contact with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and helped convince him to resume fuel shipments into Gaza.
At least those in the area know what is going on...

'Pretty impressive': Jacqui Smith was pleased with the outcome of the raids
Nearly 120 people were arrested and 1,300 guns and imitation firearms seized in a major police crackdown, it was announced today.
Raids in hotspots which account for more than half of Britain's gun crime - Manchester, London, Liverpool and Birmingham - involved more than 1,000 officers yesterday.
The operation seized 10 handguns and £5,900 in cash.
Officers also confiscated six imitation handguns, 1,290 other realistic imitation firearms, three CS gas canisters, a stun gun and four air weapons.
Oscar Poppa - So by my count they got 1296 toys, 4 BB guns, and only 10 actual firearms. (And if you look at the picture of “confiscated guns”, you’ll see a crossbow. Wonder where that fit into the numbers.) But the article’s headline reads…oh, bloody hell. Forget it. Socialist government and their authorized mouthpieces. Please make note, Fellow Citizen, and while doing so keep in mind who is campaigning for the leadership of our Nation. For if the wrong choice is made (democrat or RINO) we could very well be reading the same tripe from the government propaganda outlets on this side of the Atlantic.
Trouser snake kills Cambodian man.
Phnom Penh (dpa) - A Cambodian man who took off his trousers, tied the legs at the bottom and wrangled a 2-metre cobra into them died when it bit him through the fabric, local media reported Monday.
Khmer-language daily Koh Santepheap quoted police as saying Chab Kear, 36, saw the reptile swimming in a river just outside the capital last Thursday during a drinking session and captured it in the hopes of selling it later in the day.
He tied the animal inside his trousers and a scarf around his waist, but as he continued carousing the enraged snake managed to get its fangs free and bite Kear three times on the stomach.
The newspaper reported Kear's last words as being "don't worry - it's nothing a drink can't fix" before he succumbed to the cobra's venom.

Fallen Journalists...
Offenses include lying and fabricating, doctoring photos, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, falling for hoaxes, and overt bias. Some are hilarious, such as an action figure doll being mistaken for a real soldier. Some are silly, such as reporting on a baseball game watched on TV. Some are more serious.
I leave it to you to judge whether the internet damaged "journalism's ability to do its job professionally", as Marvin Kalb accuses, or if the internet has in fact helped expose an already damaged "profession".
Ebay is banning all gun parts....
In mid-August, we will be updating our Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policy to place more restrictions around gun-related items. Once these changes take effect, we will prohibit listings of any firearm part that is required for the firing of a gun. This includes items like bullet tips, brass casings and shells, barrels, slides, cylinders, magazines, firing pins, trigger assemblies, etc.
Seein' that gun parts are mostly what I buy, I guess I won't be using Ebay that much. I'll probably keep the account open (that has to cost them something), just in case I need a non-threatening pillow sham or something.
Christ, are these a bunch of Dickless Kalifornia Wunderkinder or what. I bet Auction Arms is happy tho.

Yepper, the War on Terror is just a bumper sticker. Also note that down south, there are no 'men of no appearance'.
Update: The FBI is saying they had explosives enough to make good sized fireworks...not a bomb?
Update - Not so fast...
Those two Egyptian students at the University of South Florida who were caught with pipe bombs near a South Carolina Navy base have been indicted, and one of them turns out to have a history of involvement in terrorism.
Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, 24, an engineering graduate student and teaching assistant at the Tampa-based university, faces terrorism charges for teaching and demonstrating how to use the explosives.
According to officials familiar with the case, Mohamed has been arrested previously in Egypt on terrorism-related charges. He is said to have produced an Internet video showing how to build a remote-controlled car bomb.
NEW YORK - Rosie O'Donnell's stormy tenure on "The View" will be a short one. The opinionated host was unable to agree on a contract with ABC, and she'll leave the show in June.
She's taking a job as a technology professor at a major Eastern university.
