Fallen Journalists...
Offenses include lying and fabricating, doctoring photos, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, falling for hoaxes, and overt bias. Some are hilarious, such as an action figure doll being mistaken for a real soldier. Some are silly, such as reporting on a baseball game watched on TV. Some are more serious.
I leave it to you to judge whether the internet damaged "journalism's ability to do its job professionally", as Marvin Kalb accuses, or if the internet has in fact helped expose an already damaged "profession".
Ebay is banning all gun parts....
In mid-August, we will be updating our Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policy to place more restrictions around gun-related items. Once these changes take effect, we will prohibit listings of any firearm part that is required for the firing of a gun. This includes items like bullet tips, brass casings and shells, barrels, slides, cylinders, magazines, firing pins, trigger assemblies, etc.
Seein' that gun parts are mostly what I buy, I guess I won't be using Ebay that much. I'll probably keep the account open (that has to cost them something), just in case I need a non-threatening pillow sham or something.
Christ, are these a bunch of Dickless Kalifornia Wunderkinder or what. I bet Auction Arms is happy tho.

PJM NY
August 4, 2007 7:15 PM
Berkeley County police found explosives in a van with Florida tags during a routine traffic stop near Goose Creek, north of Charleston, South Carolina around 6PM tonight. The van was reportedly driven by two men of Middle Eastern descent. Highway 1-76 near Goose Creek has been shut down. "In addition to the FBI, authorities from Goose Creek, Berkeley County, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are on scene. The Charleston County bomb squad has also been called." (ABC News4)
UPDATE: Police closed the highway outside Charleston for more than five hours. "Goose Creek is home to the Naval Weapons Station and the U.S. Naval Consolidated Brig, a military prison where enemy combatants have been held.' (AP)
Yepper, the War on Terror is just a bumper sticker. Also note that down south, there are no 'men of no appearance'.
Update: The FBI is saying they had explosives enough to make good sized fireworks...not a bomb?
Update - Not so fast...
Those two Egyptian students at the University of South Florida who were caught with pipe bombs near a South Carolina Navy base have been indicted, and one of them turns out to have a history of involvement in terrorism.
Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, 24, an engineering graduate student and teaching assistant at the Tampa-based university, faces terrorism charges for teaching and demonstrating how to use the explosives.
According to officials familiar with the case, Mohamed has been arrested previously in Egypt on terrorism-related charges. He is said to have produced an Internet video showing how to build a remote-controlled car bomb.
