OBAMA: No, no, no. But the -- I don't think that when you look at what is being promulgated on Fox News, let's say, and Republican commentators who are closely allied to these folks--
STEPHANOPOULOS: But John McCain said that's wrong.
OBAMA: Now, well, look. Listen. You and I both know that the minute that Governor Palin was forced to talk about her daughter, I immediately said that's off limits. And--
STEPHANOPOULOS: But John McCain said the same thing about questioning your faith.
OBAMA: And what was the first thing the McCain?s campaign went out and did? They said, look, these liberal blogs that support Obama are out there attacking Governor Palin.
Let's not play games. What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come--
STEPHANOPOULOS: Christian faith.
OBAMA: -- my Christian faith. Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested--
STEPHANOPOULOS: Has connections, right.
OBAMA: -- that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either.
What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith -- something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time.
The idiot has to be reminded that he purports to be a Christian. This guy doesn't do well when he doesn't have a prepared speech.
AK-47s have been illegal since 1936...this is Moonbat speak for another Assault Weapons Ban.

Biden is nearly as old as McLame so there goes the age thing. Biden's been a left-wing senator for 30 odd years, so there goes the change thing. Biden is generally a pro-war Dim so the nut-roots won't be happy. He has foreign policy experience, but is considered a policy wonk and shows up M'Bonga's lack of experience. He's been involved in some serious scandals that will re-emerge soon. He criticized the Messiah heavily during the primaries.
Probably a safe choice, but uninspired and not a big help I think. They didn't even consider Hillary. That would have been a better ticket...or she didn't consider joining a sinking ship.
So I guess I won't have to hold my nose and vote for McLame afterall.
For those of you who don't remember, it was Senator Biden who strong-armed the 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill through the Senate and House in the summer of 1994. That bill had within it one of the key seeds of the "Republican Revolution" that was voted in that November. The Crime Bill was the vehicle through which the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban was hammered into law

Big changes in a week. McLame picked up nearly 60 electoral votes pushing him into a small lead over M'Bonga for the first time. State polling shows McLame getting stronger across the board, and M'Bonga getting weaker...in all instances.
Remember, at this time in past elections, the Dims were way ahead in all categories...and still lost. This doesn't bode well for the Messiah.
The only Northern liberal Democratic presidential candidates since 1964 have been Humphrey, McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis and Kerry.
Comparing how they did in Gallup polling in July versus the eventual electoral result:
- Mondale and McGovern suffered swings toward the Republicans of 2% and 4% respectively, which in their cases didn’t matter much because they started and stayed a devastating 20% or so behind
- In the closer elections Humphrey (1968) suffered a July-November swing to the Republicans of 6%, Dukakis (1988) 16%, Kerry (2004) 9.5%.
In each case in the fall the Northern liberal's support fell off sharply, when the public found out more about them and the policies they supported.
As a Northern liberal (and he's a very orthodox, rather left of center one at that) this 40-year history suggests that Obama would need to have a solid 10% lead in the polls now just to have an even chance in November, quite apart from any racial considerations (which if they materialize on polling day may well cut both ways).
...and if Hil uses this to grab the nomination away from the magic messiah, I would ovulate* on the spot.
*Which I learned from Rachel Lucas

...and check out the embroidery

Added to his personal seal, I think M'bonga is counting his chickens. The polls are no longer going his way.
What an arrogant dickhead. He is making McLame look good...something I would have considered impossible a few months ago. I bet there are a lot of Dim's that wish they could hit the ol' time machine and switch their primary vote to the Hildibeast.
I'm a conservative...that means I'm not thrilled with McCain much either. However, if this was to be the year of the Democrat, I would much rather see it be Hillary.
It bothers me that Obama is forcing me to vote McCain.
I have voted Democrat in the past, but that party of 40 years ago is gone. Too bad. It seems that your Democats-in-control-of-the-party hate Republicans, and your typical Republican is where the Democrats were those 40 years ago.
Conservatives, however, see both parties as a lite and heavy version of each other.
There HAD to be a better choice than Obama. From a conservatives point of view he isn't just wrong for America, he's an anathema. No-one ever said that Hillary wasn't an American...left-of-center, yes, but an American first.
I can't tell if being an American is even on Obama's list.

...and the new hand sign they want their acolytes to adopt.

This speaks to me.
It says - "Yes, I am a BIG asshole".
I wonder it this will last as long as his seal did.
I can't stand either of them.
Senators make lousy candidates...too much baggage. McCain is heavy with it.
Obama has so little baggage that he is supremely qualified to be a community activist for six square blocks in Chicago.
However, Obama is making McCain (spit) look Presidential.
Doomed either way.
Strange. If we have to have a far left President, Hillary is looking real good. If she was the candidate I'd have to agree that she would be a lock. M'Bonga not so much.
Rachel Lukas mentions a comment that it seems like the entire left side of the country is wearing Beer Goggles.
"It is not going to be a political speech," said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. "When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally."
"But he is not president of the United States," a reporter reminded the adviser. -Powerline
God, can this self-absorbed elitist get any more annoying? They are forcing me to look to McLame as the better choice. How sucky is that?
I can't say I ever remember a president designing his own imperial seal...much less just a candidate.
Something a bit creepy about that.

This guy is totally unready to be a Senator, much less President, he is the product of the most corrupt state government in the country, a hard leftist, just another lying politician, and he is obviously, to anyone who looks, a devotee of black liberation theology. But with the backing and willful blindness of the press, he can get away with anything.
Update: Seal dropped after much laughing.

Just cuz, you know, we've got another of those exercises in futility that come around every four years.
If this happens.
I would rather see Barry O' get the Presidency and the Republican Party cracked like a walnut.
They still ain't getting my guns tho.
I'd vote for this guy in a New York Minute...
Of course the O'bamessiah ain't doing any better. The more things hopychange, the more they stay the same...
Since I don't have a horse in this race, I am pretty much preparing myself for 4 years of misery. It's pretty much a race for the liberal to lose.
Which liberal, you ask?
Why the big-government, anti-free speech, anti-gun, pro-open borders liberal of course.
Not enough info?
And therein lies the problem.
Buying as much in the way of ammo and guns that I can between now and January is something to do I guess. There will be consequences this election cycle.
On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes - and I see many of them in the audience here today - our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.
Memorial Day 2008 speech in New Mexico.
...Zombies? ...and really knows his Geography.
...Obama also spoke about his uncle, who was part of the American brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz...
Auschwitz of course is in Poland. It was liberated by the Red Army on Jan 27 1945. The Americans didn't even cross the Rhine until March...and Barry O'bama doesn't have an uncle nor were there Brigades in the Big One. Perhaps another relative (it was his grandfather in a similar story a couple of years ago), perhaps he mis-spoke about Auschwitz, perhaps he knows nothing about military organization, perhaps he's just a pandering loon like the rest of them.
It's OK Barry. Make it up as you go along. The MSM won't call you on it and maybe Chris Matthews will get another tingle up his leg.
Change you can believe in - it's his stories you can't believe.
GOOOH stands for 'Get Out of Our House' and is pronounced like the word 'go'. It is a NON-PARTISAN plan to evict the 435 career politicians in the U.S. House of Representatives and replace them with everyday Americans just like you
Here are my results for the remaining candidates...what percentage I agree with their policies and programs.
Arizona Senator John McCain (R) - 69.23%
Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D) - 53.85%
New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) - 46.15%
It sucks to be me.
Note: As Cold Fury says: Vote for whichever liberal you like this fall. Just don't offer me any bites from the shit sandwich, thanks, and don't try to lecture me on how McCain will be "better for America" than any of these other pygmies. He won't be. In fact, he can probably do the most good for conservatism and Constitutional government by getting himself roundly and thoroughly trounced.
The United States was in the midst of a Presidential race: Bush v Gore, and I remember that the election was still a few months off.
At the end of the class, the conversation turned to American politics, and how our circus was seen in Egypt. The answer of the class was very enlightening for me...
"America never changes."
Here we were in the midst of a hard fought and excruciatingly polarized contest, one that ultimately hung on the chads of a few hundred people in Florida, and my foreign students shrugged it off because:
"America never changes."
I'm watching attack ads each night on TV, listening to each candidate slam each other like the future of the Republic was in immediate jeopardy, and saw rock hard polling indicate that America was irrevocably split right down the middle in an orgy of angry partisanship...never to be healed again. But...
"America never changes."
All right, guys...what do you mean that "America never changes"...are you telling me you could see no difference between Carter and Regan, or Bush and Gore.
"Oh, America changes little bits. Maybe little bit to this side with one guy or little bit to the other side with another guy...but really America never changes."
I found this oddly comforting. What we see as wild swings, the world sees as consistency.
Don't get me wrong. I could have lived with a President Kerry or Gore; I didn't say I would vote for them. I would prefer to vote for the pro-gun, pro-choice, fiscal conservative, constitution loving, strong defense, pro-military candidate with balls...but none is running this year (or any year).
We in Denmark cannot figure out why you are even bothering to hold an election.
On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer, and a
lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer.
On the other side, you have a true war hero married to a woman with a huge
chest who owns a beer distributorship.
Is there a contest here?
You can't say clearer than that! Stolen from Mr. Freemarket who stole it from The Smallest Minority who in turn stole it from Irons in the Fire
Carter is not a do-gooder.
Everything he has done recently is to try and rescue his 'legacy'. It is impossible for him to fade away softly...knowing how much he is disrespected for incompetence. He isn't even hated like some hate GW, Carter is just a sad joke.
He knows that he damaged himself forever with the great majority of Americans, and can only depend on the 15-20% of the population that are screaming moonbats.
So he embraces their causes. He is no different than those marginal politicians in the 30s that embraced the Nazi's...
Carter is safely ignored. He is only propped up by the media. Nothing he does has any import to the country or the world. A performer in a side-show, biting the heads off chickens
Barry
In 1999, Mr. Obama urged enactment of a federal law prohibiting the operation of any gun store within five miles of a school or park. This would eliminate gun stores from almost the entire inhabited portion of the United States.
As a state senate candidate in 1996, Mr. Obama endorsed a complete ban on all handguns in a questionnaire. The Obama campaign has claimed he "never saw or approved the questionnaire," and that an aide filled it out incorrectly. But a few weeks ago, Politico.com found an amended version of the questionnaire. It included material added in Mr. Obama's handwriting.
As a state senator, Mr. Obama voted against a 2004 bill (which passed overwhelmingly) to give citizens a legal defense against prosecution for violating a local handgun ban if they actually used the firearm for lawful self-defense on their own property.
In 2001, as a state senator, Mr. Obama voted against allowing the
beneficiaries of domestic violence protective orders to carry handguns
for protection.
Mr. Obama told the Chicago Tribune in 2004 that he favored a
national ban on concealed carry, to "prevent other states' laws from
threatening the safety of Illinois residents."
Hillary
As first lady, she helped organize the Million Mom March for "sensible gun laws" in 2000. It was led by the shrill gun prohibitionist Rosie O'Donnell.
After Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans and St. Tammany police confiscated guns from law-abiding citizens, violating an explicit Louisiana law. In some cases, the confiscation was carried out with the assistance of federal agents, and was perpetrated via warrantless break-ins into homes.  The next year, the U.S. Senate voted 84-16 for a homeland security appropriations rider stating: "None of the funds appropriated by this Act shall be used for the seizure of a firearm based on the existence of a declaration or state of emergency." Mrs. Clinton was one of the 16 who voted "no." Mr. Obama commendably voted with the majority.
Mrs. Clinton campaigned against a licensed carry referendum in Missouri.
Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama voted against legislation to stop mayors from suing gun manufacturers and gun stores because of gun crime. That legislation banned lawsuits only if businesses had complied with all laws regarding firearms manufacture and sales.
I am not a resident of the small Pennsy towns this canard was aimed at. I am certainly not very religious. I do wonder if Obama has even met anyone outside of the six-square-blocks of Chicago that is his base. Apparently according to Sen. Hopey, your depth of feeling on your relationship with God and the Constitution depends totally on your economic condition.
The more you believe that Jesus is your personal savior, and the more you believe in the 2nd Amendment...the more a pathetic, gap-toothed, redneck you must be.
Sen. SnobbyElitist more like it.
As for his really annoying wife...
"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more." -Michelle Obama

Neither does he...

Doncha just love the "newsmen"

Christ on a Crutch...it's as hard to get rid of a Clinton as it is to get rid of a Bush.
Altho, seein' as the General Election is going to suck big-time, this is the only political enjoyment I'm going to get this year. Watching the Ravenous Hilldibeast go at it with his Hopefulness the Obamessiah*.
So it's going to go to the convention in Denver. While it is mathematically possible for each of them to get enough delegates to clinch the nomination, the shared nature of Dim delegate apportion makes that nearly impossible. Obama would need 75% and Hillary 90% of the remaining delegates...and that's not going to happen unless one or the other drops out.
So it comes down to the SuperDelegates and a challenge to 'redo' the primaries in Michigan and Florida...probably in June.
Imagine the pressure the super-dooper-dims are under now. Do they go with the popular vote or with their stated purpose of picking the candidate with the best chance in November.
...and do I decide, as many already have, that I love America more than I hate John McCain.
Fucking gun-grabbing bastards the lot of them.
*Just for a mental exercise, harken back to that scene in The Mummy Returns when the zombie-like villagers are staggering thru the streets intoning IMHOTEP, IMHOTEP. Repace that with OBAMA, OBAMA and you get an idea of how his rallies appear to me.
Oh. My. God.
Do we even want to guess what Barry will want played?
Made it legal for someone to possess a firearm without an FOID card as long as they were in the direct supervision of someone with an FIOD card. The bill became law.
Obama voted against it.
March 24, 2003 SB-356
From the legislature site:
"Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that the Department of State Police shall publish a list of handguns having a barrel, slide, frame or receiver that is a die casting of zinc alloy or any other nonhomogeneous metal which will melt or deform at a temperature of less than 800 degrees Fahrenheit. Provides that a building used for the unlawful sale of firearms may be abated as a public nuisance only if the person using the building for the unlawful sale has been convicted of the offense and the Department of State Police has published the list of prohibited firearms. Effective immediately."
Obama vote for this bill. It died in the House.
March 25, 2003 SB-2163
Would have lowered the age for FOID card from 21 to 18. The result is that some men in the military are not able to own firearms.
Obama voted against it.
March 27, 2003 SB-947
A "Gun Show Loophole" bill.
Obama voted for it.
May 7, 2003 HB-1096
Would have legalized handgun deer hunting.
Obama did not vote.
May 15, 2003 HB-515
This bill was to notify gun owners when their gun was the subject of records request or search. The bill would have allowed the owner to have his trace information destroyed under certain circumstances. During this time Daley was trying to use trace information to use in gun manufacturer lawsuits.
Obama voted against the bill. It passed but the governor vetoed it.
May 24, 2003 SB-257
Would have legalized handgun deer hunting.
Obama did not vote.
March 25, 2004 SB-2165
From the Illinois Legislature site:
"Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is an affirmative defense to a violation of a municipal ordinance that prohibits, regulates, or restricts the private ownership of firearms if the individual who is charged with the violation used the firearm in an act of self-defense or defense of another. Effective immediately."
Obama voted against this bill twice. It passed anyway. The governor vetoed and the legislature overrode the veto.

Amazing how society can collapse and unless it's mentioned on FOX, you don't notice. Disappointing in a way, though. My investment in guns, ammunition, and canned goods hasn't started to pay off.Found thru Tim Blair

Who said--"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand, one in Texas...., one near Canton,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose brow, and wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The electorate that mocked them, and the press that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Hillarymandias,
Look on my resume and campaign fundraising, ye fellow Democrats, and despair!
Nothing else remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

The actual poem is here...
That would be awesome.
There are lots of people of color who only don't vote for Republican because of the fact that they don't vote for Republicans. It's very frustrating, because we know there are votes there but aren't sure any effort will get them to pull the lever for someone with an 'R' by his name. Lately, blacks have been voting Democrats over Republicans something like 90% versus 10%. But guess what? That's also how they split in the primaries in Obama versus Hillary. If Hillary takes the nomination anyway -- completely disregarding the vote through the use of superdelegates -- that could make people so mad that it could finally tear down that wall that came up some time during last century that keep blacks from flocking to the Republicans.
We just have to hope that Hillary will be that arrogant and the Democrats that stupid... and there is nothing Hillary likes more than being arrogant and the Democrats enjoy more than being stupid.
This is getting really sweet. Combine the above with the Bloomberg rumor and the fun would never stop. I know they're going to disappoint me, tho. It would add too much fun to an election I have already lost...fucking RINOs and/or gun grabbers everywhere you look.
Orwell offers a highly qualified appreciation of the then (and still) politically incorrect Kipling. He insists that one must admit that Kipling is "morally insensitive and aesthetically disgusting." Still, he says, Kipling "survives while the refined people who have sniggered at him seem to wear so badly. One reason for this is that Kipling identified himself with the ruling power and not with the opposition.
In a gifted writer, Orwell remarks, this seems to us strange and even disgusting, but it did have the advantage of giving Kipling a certain grip on reality. Kipling at least tried to imagine what action and responsibility are like. For, Orwell explains, The ruling power is always faced with the question, In such and such circumstances, what would you do?, whereas the opposition is not obliged to take responsibility or make any real decisions. Furthermore, "where it is a permanent and pensioned opposition, as in England, the quality of its thought deteriorates accordingly.
If I may vulgarize the implications of Orwell's argument a bit: substitute Republicans for Kipling and Democrats for the opposition, and you have a good synopsis of the current state of American politics.
I'm a big Kipling fan...
We can only hope.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Coulter all knocking McCain and pushing "who"?...Romney. Romney, the governor of Massassbackwards and the very model of a modern RINO used-car salesman. These radio guys lost more credibility with conservatives over that than anything else I have seen.
Tell me when Fred and Hunter dropped out you didn't say to yourselves...there go the conservatives. These talking heads immediately switched to the RINO Romney... This is exactly the reason that Air America failed - they were not honest with their audience.
Note to moonbats. Conservatives are not lemmings marching in lockstep. We don't need a memo to tell that when someone is pissing down our backs - it ain't raining. The social conservative Huckabee Christ'ers aren't listening to talk-radio on this, and if I am any example, a lot of policy and fiscal conservatives are not also - I wonder who is?

Not a bad speech...as pandering speeches to conservatives go. Mentioned several times his 'differences' with conservatives. Gave me the impression that 'what you've seen in the past is what you're going to get'.McCain has an ACU (American Conservative Union) rating of 82.3; Clinton has a rating of 9...that is his career rating. His rating from 1997-2007 is 50...
Some booing (especially when talking about the border). He said he 'stood behind his position on illegal immigrants'. I stand behind mine.
This was a good speech, albeit delivered in a monotone without passion, but I see two things wrong with it.
He has absolutely no past voting history that would substantiate any of the domestic stuff.
His closest advisers are still strong open-borders advocates.
He's a conservative only when it suits him. Then again, Obama is a committed socialist and Hillary is experienced only in putting political expediency ahead of any principal.I can see his slogan now: McCain for President...or you're really screwed.

I've always been of the belief that McCain could win the general but have difficulty with the primaries. Apparently I'm wrong about the primary. McCain could still win the general, but can you imagine how dirty a campaign between him and Hillary would be?
Yikes!
Update: Romney is Out...never liked him anyway. McCain is the nominee. I'm researching what guns to buy. If we weren't at war I'd figure it would be a toss-up between McCain and Hillabama. I'll side with McCain on the war, but he won't close the border and he'll push for amnesty. He'll also sign any gun-bill that makes it to his office.

I am not a political scientist. I can't make predictions based on polls, pundits, or primaries.
I do, like a lot of people, know what I like when I see it.
I'm a guy interested in the sweet spot of Jacksonian ideology - the 2nd Amendment. How anybody, professed liberal or right-wing death beast, feels about the right of the individual to own guns is enough to tell you how they will react when the chips are down on all the subjects that matter.
Neither Romney, McCain, The Hildibeast, nor Obama are worthy of trust on the 2nd. The latter two make gun grabbing a platform plank, and the former two are gun-grabbers by their statements and past deeds, no matter what they say now.
http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm
The absolute best we can get out of this election is a big-government RINO to the left of Bush (who lost his conservative street cred years ago), and the worst is a flat-out socialist. The last time this happened to me I voted for Perot and got the embarrassing slick Willie for 8 years.
I will not vote for McCain....even if it's McCain-Rudy as the ticket. If it's McCain-Huckabee I'll vote for Hillary-Obama to be able to blame the resulting 4 years of pain on a true socialist instead of a democrat masquerading as a Republican.
...or I'll just write in Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson.
In other words, from the point of view of a gun guy, I've lost already...no matter what happens in November. Reports are that the Democrats are going to get a bigger piece of Congress also. Isn't that special.
Buy guns. Get at least one pistol and one rifle in the next nine months. With the candidates we have left, regardless who wins...the 2nd Amendment is in jeopardy.
I can think of a couple of rifles I would like...a higher end 7.62x39 AK and a Garand, and to finish building out my stripped AR lower into a CQB carbine. Pistols tho...? I have a 1920 Luger in 9mm that I don't shoot a lot and would like a 9mm auto that is a shooter. I'd like another .357 DA revolver...an older Smith if possible in 6". I'd love a .357 in SSA. I also would like another snubbie (one of the super light ones), and a basic .45 gov't from Springfield. I've been wanting a K-22 for a while also. Another Mak couldn't hurt. Fortunately I'm not looking for $5000 race guns, and individually what I want are not too pricey...but I just want a bunch of them. $3-$4000 would probably do it for everything, but that's a bit much in the year I have left before the grabbers get here.
I figure I can get one rifle, build out the CQB, and get one or two pistols.
A flea floating down the river on his back with a hard on - yelling, OPEN THE DRAWBRIDGE.
The Clintoons will crush him, and the resulting fallout will put a RINO in the White House in the fall. Blacks won't come out for her and conservatives won't come out for whomever RINO runs on the Red side...
Resulting in the race of the pygmy's in the Fall. Low turnout and alienating the black vote does not help the Dims.
I'm in a quandry...
If it's a McCain - Hillary Contest...
Who do I fucking Vote against?
